About Us

We feel that in this technological age it is all too easy for people to try and solve technical problems with technical solutions. So for instance, tap water has to be chemically treated because of the pollution we have created in the first place by our industrial processes and by the way we live. We try to solve this by either bottling and shipping natural water from great distances, so causing more pollution and waste, or we try to find sophisticated filtering solutions, with the risk that the process might end up creating more pollution - and possibly even contaminating the water further - so creating a vicious circle.

So how do we get out of this? We think it's a matter of mentality. Rather than automatically looking to technology, we could try asking ourselves simply what is the best natural solution that exists - the solution that will do the least further harm? In our books, the answer's obvious - bamboo charcoal...

We started the Charcoal People in order to offer a simple alternative to people who are looking for one. We hope you will enjoy using our bamboo charcoal as much as we do.
